What Is Permaculture? You can find out at upcoming events in Northfield, but David Holmgren, co-founder of the concept, says "Permaculture is a way to consciously design gardens and landscapes that mimic the patterns and relationships found in nature."
Joe Gransee-Bowman and I have planned several Permaculture-related events in Northfield, and the first events are happening this week! Note that the Saturday workshop has a new sliding scale fee to make it more accessible.
What's Happening in Northfield?Friday May 21, 7 - 9 PM: Permaculture movie showing -- we'll show parts of several videos that demonstrate what Permaculture looks like in various parts of the world. FREE and open to the public.
Saturday May 22, 9 AM - 4 PM: Introduction to Permaculture Workshop - We will talk about the ethics and principles that are the foundation of Permaculture and introduce some of the aspects of Permaculture design. We'll work with this information in small-group activities and answer questions that you have. ** Pre-registration is required for the Saturday event -- NEW SLIDING SCALE FEE **
Sliding scale fee: $15 - $60; does not include lunch.Pay toward the upper end of the scale to support this and other Permaculture events; pay toward the lower end of the scale if that's what works for your budget.
Both events will be at the Peterson Business Center, 801 N. Highway 3, Northfield (roughly across the street from Dairy Queen).
How Do I Register? To register for either event, or both, please email NorthfieldPermacultureGuild [at] gmail.com to hold your space and we'll get back to you with payment information, etc. (You can also send questions to that email address.)
Feel free to forward this notice to other people you think may be interested.
We hope to see you there! Paul Sebby Joe Gransee-Bowman
