Transition Northfield Initiating Group meeting

March 6, 2010 

Where: Our office building on Hwy 3

Meeting time : 9-12  (As facilitator I will be there early for those who would 
like to join me for set up- )

Bring announcements for the board- and something to share...

First off- A quick game.

Read to each other " how we will be with each other"...



Check In

 New Business to be prioritized:

1)      *Proposals on the table- Discussion of  Proposal  : Transition  
Northfield  "As we move outward"- Shaping our message to the public-

Be it proposed that as TNF moves to share the concept of Transition with the 
community; that we might  agree on the spectrum that we will present ourselves 
,  as well as revisit the cheerful disclaimer as to what we are not.

Rationale: There was a long invaluable  discussion  at the 2- 20- 10  
Initiating group meeting where we realized the importance of "educating" from a 
big "T "place and the "being" of bubbling up from a little" t" place. 
Identifying a new understanding and spectrum from which we will bring the 
transition message and affirm who is already walking the transition path, is 
vital to our purpose and accomplishment.

2)Proposal Vibe Watcher

Be it proposed that we TNF add to our process the role of a vibe watcher (or 
incorporate into the facilitators role) to look for and identify boundaries 
being crossed among us, to bring us to a problem solving place as well as a 
place of acceptance of our differences.

Rationale: It appears that it would be helpful for individuals to identify when 
they might need a venting moment, or when one might be "one-upping" or "egoing" 
each other, anything that creates a disconnect among us or when we all just 
need to take a break. Having this vibe watcher in place will help us continue 
to build or skills for getting through the "fires" that may arise.

3)Defining committee work vs initiating group work (RoseAnn's proposal item)

4) Our time line up- a check in- are we on track?

5)Finance Report/ budget- potential expenditures (tracking program, rent, movie 
rental...) Angel can you say a few words...

6)  Other proposals here..



Other Business/ committee reports to be prioritized: (How has each committee 
done some outreach and pls share minutes with us)

1)Awareness Raising: April 24th event, Movies (revisit who signed up), Slide 
show, presentations,  Awareness mission, Library glass cabinet

2)Heart and soul: (I am wondering if we might include these items in our 
discussion of proposals above... )                                    

 Heart & Soul requests time for a dialogue circle.  We have 3 questions to pose 
around the circle:
What about the transition movement
 energizes and inspires you?
 What value do you see in us coming
  together as an initiating group?
 How do you define Big T and little T?
 What
would be a productive relationship between them in your opinion?

"The heart and soul working group is formed to keep the community sensitive to 
the difficulty of making change. We pay attention to the inner transformation 
and interrelationships with the world of all beings.

3)Resources- Includes resource Directory  and contacts of organizations- Any 
new resources on the website? Transition Business cards to hand out? Do all 
have enough brochures? Transition note book in Lib.

4)Infrastructure- Blog report, website, How do we track who contacts us...

5) Transition US- any news...National Transition Conference..
