Dear members of Northfield Food Action and Transition Northfield:
The date has been set! Thursday, March 4 from 5:30 pm- 7 pm at the Co-op
Community Room. We will eat before the MPIRG event planned that same night to
talk about Local Food Policy activity.
I plan to have a flyer/poster for advertising in town. I suggest the parameters
be something like "bring a dish that meets or exceeds the Co-op ELC guideline
of 50% local". We can note that this event follows a year of local food
activity since we met LAST February. The advertising will link both events:
food and food policy update. I will bring said advertising to the 2-17-10
meeting.
I also saw in the last meeting notes a suggestion that we "sort" ourselves into
topics: a table for those wanting to community garden, a table for those
wanting recipe ideas, a table for those curious about peak food, etc., etc.
Please send me thoughts on this and willingness to "host' a topic. (Include
the topic, I just threw these out as possibilities.)
I also would like to identify a set of volunteers to help with set up, maybe
bring small tables, bring beverages and cups. We will ask everyone attending to
bring their own plates, silver, napkins.
Lastly, on the food--I propose we do not worry about organizing. If it's all
salads in March (?!?), then that's dinner!
Send ideas, comments, thoughts to me directly at adobrow [at] hotmail.com;
otherwise "hit-reply" sends to too many folks.
Peace--Angel
PS I will also be announcing this tonight to the Sustainable Farmers Assoc
board, and asking if they want to co-host or just attend.
