I'm a volunteer driver on Saturday a.m. for the NMS Environmental Club
snowshoe class at Riverbend in Faribault, and also will not be at this
meeting.

Five congregations were represented at the Tuesday night gathering,
totalling 10 people. Some folks from St. Dom's were interested but couldn't
attend because it was their annual committee night. UCC, UU, UM and Bethel
from Northfield, and COMS from Faribault (mine) were there. They were
informed of the upcoming film series and plan a joint effort for a faith
resource table at the Earth Day event I'm coordinating under the TN banner
for April 24th. I used up all my TN brochures at the Methodist forum the
previous Sunday, and didn't have any film posters to send out. If someone
can send me a copy electronically, I'll forward it to people on the faith
group contact list for promotion.

We have all contact names and a request to maintain this network, and I
suggested we do so under the TN organization's structure. I'll add them to
my data base and will also be sending them to C3, who cosponsored this
event.

A couple things from this week that I'd like to bring up at Awareness
Raising (AR):
1. Chelsea TI is in the middle of a film series and are struggling with low
turnout. They attended some Ann Arbor AR day long reskilling events which
were hugely successful, and said Ann Arbor is using the reskilling event to
draw people and adding a brief presentation when folks are in the room.
2. There's a great, short video clip in the latest TUS newsletter called
"In Transition" that gives a concise overview of Transition, peak oil,
climate change, and economy connections. I had a call from UW Extension
this morning (I'm speaking at their Sustainable Communities forum in March)
after they had reviewed our TN website to get info for their web promotion.
I'm going to add this video clip to our site, sort of an "about us" that
provides a statement of why we exist and what we are doing, which was not
apparent to the woman who contacted me.

I'm scheduling meetings with teachers at NMS and NHS next week, and would
love to hand them a brochure and movie poster. I can stop at Hideaway for
the Transition Tea for about 20 minutes, if anyone is coming who might have
copies of these?

Thanks to those who did all the great work on the presentation powerpoint!
You are the best!

Pat
