Urban permaculture

Yesterday, several people asked about edible permaculture plantings that could be done in the city and I mentioned that that is something Paula Westmoreland's permaculture design company works with a lot. (Paula is one of the founders of the main MN permaculture group PRI Cold Climate (www.pricoldclimate.org).) Her design company is Ecological Gardens in Minneapolis.

On one of the web pages for her business, they have brief descriptions and sketches of the kinds of designs that they can do in smaller spaces (e.g. a 6-foot square or 8-foot square area) -- go to this web page and click on the PDFs under "Edible Gardens": http://www.ecologicalgardens.com/what_we_do

These are not detailed prescriptions of what you can do because so much depends on the exact conditions of soil, sunlight, and water at your site, but they do give you an idea of what is possible.
