Greetings transitioners and others,

I am really looking forward to our upcoming meeting, and I wanted to be sure
everyone knows my address is: 105 Orchard St S. I am between St. Olaf and
2nd st, the only brick house on my block. My phone is 507)645-2967 if you
have any questions. I will be providing coffee and tea and juice. I will
also have banana bread, and I believe it will be a potluck for other
breakfast snacks.

A couple of other thoughts I have on some of the information circulating out
there. I think I am sensing a little bit of the snowball affect referred to
in the book...I have heard news of an informational meeting, word is
spreading and people want to join in (naturally) before reading the book,
and I am beginning to feel a little concerned about the proverbial 'cart
before the horse'. NOT that I am in favor of any kind of central command
here, but, there is alot to be said about being really intentional in the
early stages as we create the foundations of this movement in Northfield. We
have a circle of people who have come together to get informed and be apart
of sparking this model of meaningful change, and it seems respectful,
and beneficial, to include all those voices before representing ourselves
publicly.

I believe it was agreed this next meeting was for people who had read the
book, as our present purpose is to identify a 'steering committee' of sorts,
which requires a certain amount of shared understanding. I am as
enthusiastic as anyone about getting this thing off the ground, I mean, it's
taken over just about every thought I have (just ask my family!), but I feel
a real responsibility to process, and the importance of shared planning.

I am ever grateful for the enthusiasm and mutual commitment bubbling up
among us, and can hardly wait to be a part of the world we've been waiting
for.

Peace,
Karen
